I wish I could write like I used to. I used to write CONSTANTLY. And now . . . I'm lucky if I even get a few ideas every week or so.

Hm. I wonder if there is a cure for the dreaded writer's block? Reminds me of the time that I wrote that poem about it. Now how did it go . . . oh yeah.

Writer's Block

Writing assignments for classes

Is easy and simple for most,

But I have an incurable complex.

Writer's block.

It's the name of that

Which I detest and even fear.

I think of an assignment

And nothing comes to mind.

Besides thoughts of laziness,

Failure,

And stupidity.

Why must I suffer this?

I wish there was a cure.

I know what will happen.

I either won't do it,

Or won't do a good job.

One night I will lie awake

Sleepless and unnerved,

Then it will come.

The idea that could have been written

And would have put

My brain

And heart

At ease.

But then my nights of no sleep

Will be lengthened

With one more regret

Added to many others.

Why must it always be that way?
