IY Story Ideas & Life Updates ___2004-01-22 - 11:58 p.m.

If any of you are readers of mine (of my fanfiction or just this diary), then do not despair. I've actually been writing lately. *heh* So much so that I need to buy/find another FiveStar 3-Subject College-Ruled Notebook. *shrugs* They're my favs. Just like how I only write my work with Pentel RSVP Fine black ink pens. *blinks* Sorry if that sounded too much like a school supply commercial...

What have I been up to other than writing? Well, I've been periodically experimenting with my mom's digital camera. Maybe if I had one of these then I could actually upload them here:

Okay, back to writing since that's all anyone cares about. *heh* I've been working on more Inu-Yasha fanfiction. I know, I only have one story (Ake Garasue: Satsu) and two teaser chapters (Hyoutan) posted that are based on the IY universe... but it still inspires me. I have so many fics started that I can't keep up with them all. Lemme see what I have here...

1)Untitled - Status: Untyped and Just Begun, Lacking a firm Setting/World, 1% Complete
Kagome receives a letter from her father-- an explorer that many have given up for dead. As she and her friend Sango prepare to take their younger brothers to meet their long gone fathers, disaster strikes. To save themselves, they must hide in an old ship in the harbor. Too bad for them that it leaves port before they can state their case to the captain. Kagome's only chance is to strike a deal with the captain. (The rest is omitted, for now, because it gets complicated. Plus, I can't write summaries to save my life.)

Blame "Pirates of the Caribbean." I got this latest idea for an IY fanfic involving pirates... but when I realized that there were at least two (probably more on other sites as well as that one) IY/PoftheC fusions on mm.org... I kind of lost the spark. It had nothing to do with the fact that my story would have almost nothing to do with that movie. It would just be an IY pirate story. However, historical fiction is NOT my forte. I thought I would give up on this story. But then I recently aquired "Skies of Arcadia: Legends" to play on my Christmas Nintendo Gamecube. So THEN I got to thinking... who needs ocean to be a pirate? I'm not planning on doing a total IY/SofA fusion either. (I'd probably have to describe moonstones and the basic plot of the game) But it sure sounded interesting...

So it's come down to these options for the InuYasha pirate fanfiction:

A) historical
B) post-apocalyptic Earth
C) fusion with "Skies..." universe; set before or after the game

NOW can you see why I can't get started?? I can't even decide what time/world to set the story in...

2)Untitled - Status: Typed, 25% Complete
Kagome Higurashi is not who she appears to be. She is a dead woman. A dead woman whose husband was found insane after her death. But looks are deceiving-- even to his eyes. She is Kikyo. Or at least, she plays her in that house. Wanting to know the truth behind Kikyo's death and the reason for her husband's insanity, his brother hires the actress Kagome to play the deceased wife. But what answers await her are far more sinister than she could ever imagine. And the growing feelings she has for her "brother in law" are no help to stay in character.

3) Eternal Eyes / Eyes of Eternity - Status: Typed, Unfinished, Lacking Inspiration, 10% Complete
A super sequel to "Hyoutan." Well, actually it's a whole series of ideas that I call the "Eternal Eyes" saga. (Yes, I realize that I have barely started "Hyoutan," but I'm kind of stuck on it:(
Anyway, it's a few stories about how InuYasha and Sesshoumaru [Hyoutan Spoiler Warning!] live without Kagome. The main stories center around Sesshoumaru and a child he is given in the future by a young woman that looks a lot like Rin as a young woman.

4)Untitled - Status: Introduction Typed only
A sequel to "Ake Garasue:Satsu" that will continue the "World Gone Mad/Mixing Reality and Fiction" saga. Though it lacks focus, it has a neat plot that is unusual for me. Some is based on truth while most is fiction.

5)"Protect Me" - Status: Beginning Chapters Typed, House Layout Planned, O.5% Complete
And another odd fic simply called that for now. That's based on some paranoia/security dreams I've had lately. A definite Sess x Kag. I have to fight to not make this a "The Defender"(Jet Li) rip off.

Okay, enough of that.

Basically, they all have a few traits that make them alike:

1)Dialogue in abundance
2)Lack of action
3)Too many WAFF moments and cliffhangars of sexual tension

But mostly, they just suck. Oh well. *lol* I posted the teaser for the Untitled2 (Kagome acting as Kikyo) in the Terror Unknown Member Forum. If I can cut/paste the html. (I think I tried and it won't cooperate :P) then maybe I can put it here as a post or upload it to my fanfiction archives to see if anyone's interested. It's super sort, though. I don't even think it's a page long. Most likely less.

Anyway, yes, I'm doing okay. I'm working now. *audience face vaults* Nothing fancy, mind you. Just a job at the local college working during the men's and women's basketball games. I only work home game days, so my schedule is sparratic-- making it near impossible to get another part-time job. (Actually, weekdays might work. I'll just be tired after working 'til midnight-ish some nights) Definitely not glamorous. But I get paid bi-weekly. Yay!!

Maybe I can buy my 1st Gamecube memory card... or the Special Edition DVD Collection of Ceres: Celestial Legend by Yu Watase. (Author/Creator of Fushigi Yugi) What's sad is that I can almost afford it. But I think I'll wait to buy anymore anime until I get my 1st Place gift certificate from TU. Maybe I'll finally buy Castle in the Sky by Hayao Miyazaki. That was very good and it's something I'm not embarassed to watch with my mother. :P

Hmmm... I'm beginning to wonder if I should ask/hire someone to convert my stories for me. I tend to take SO much time converting and uploading my documents to my various archives. Why? Well, if an .rtf or .doc doesn't work... then I try html. And if the site doesn't read my quick formatting right... I have to do it myself. -_- Not something I'm fast at. I can do it. I just don't like filling my day with coding. If I could just write in ONE perfect format that would upload with no problems... then I could almost update some stories everyday. (Well, once a month is more realistic) Here's to dreamin'.

Well, I've talked your ears off (or is that read your eyes out?) long enough. Take care and find your own muse/inspiration. ^.~ I need one SO bad. *heh*

I trust you all with my story ideas-- as lame as they are. But they're mine. I'm not saying anyone would dare steal them, (Who could be that DUMB!?!) but it has happened to more than one author I know.
